We Make Carpets

Dutch trio Marcia Nolte, Bob Waardenburg and Stijn van der Vleuten collaborate to create "We Make Carpets"; using traditional techniques with every day items and consumables from modern lifestyles such as pasta, toy soldiers and paper clips, carpets are 'woven'- or rather pieced together in some instances- to form conventional patterns when viewed from afar. Due to the textiles used the carpets are temporary and cannot  be moved as with usual carpets society are accustomed to, the transient nature of the craft makes the carpets contemporary while the level of design and meaning transform them into art.

That being said the carpets are mind blowing in precision and the colours on this one makes me happy. This carpet is made from the humble plastic fork. All in all very pretty!
